Data Protection & Compliance Manager

Kforce has a client seeking a Manager, Data Protection and Compliance in Fort Lauderdale, FL to support enterprise-wide privacy, data protection, and compliance initiatives. Summary: This role partners closely with Information Security, IT, Legal, Risk, and business stakeholders to help ensure compliance with global privacy regulations and data protection requirements. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in privacy compliance, lead risk, and assessment activities, and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of privacy programs across the organization. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with IT, Information Security, and business stakeholders to implement and monitor privacy compliance programs
- Analyze data flows and information usage to support privacy program effectiveness and regulatory compliance
- Provide guidance on Personally Identifiable Information (PII) collection, use, minimization, retention, sharing, and disposal
- Assist with the development and delivery of privacy awareness and training initiatives
- Conduct privacy and security assessments, including GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO, vendor risk, data mapping, and compliance reviews
- Monitor changes to global privacy laws and regulations and communicate impacts across the organization
- Serve as a trusted advisor and internal resource for privacy and data protection matters
- Support privacy incident response activities, investigations, and remediation efforts
- Identify privacy compliance risks and partner with stakeholders to develop effective mitigation strategies
- Review new systems, products, and business processes to ensure compliance with privacy requirements
- Partner with technical teams to incorporate privacy-by-design and privacy engineering principles into solutions
- Support auditing, monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives related to privacy compliance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business, Legal Studies, or a related field; Equivalent experience considered
- 5+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, risk management, audit, information security, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of global privacy and data protection regulations, including GDPR and other applicable frameworks
- Experience performing privacy impact assessments, security reviews, risk assessments, and compliance audits
- Understanding of information security principles and data protection controls
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across all levels of an organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience supporting projects through the full system development lifecycle
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Privacy Engineering experience
- Experience within a Legal, Audit, Compliance, Risk, or Governance function
