A technician installs hardware and software for businesses, maintain computer systems and equipment, and diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues that may interfere with the daily functions of a business. They also provide support to any members of an organization who needs computer-related technical assistance. An IT assistant technician, provides technical support to users by installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software. They also respond to user requests and ensure systems run optimally.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform troubleshooting and repairs to address/resolve PC hardware, peripherals, operating system, application software and network connectivity failures; ensure documented incident (INC) records are resolved within committed service levelsDeploy new or reallocated PC hardware, operating system changes and applications as requested; ensure documented request (REQ) tasks are deployed within committed service levelProvide desktop support outside core business hours during refueling outages; ensure documented outage-related incident (INC) records are resolved within committed service levelsImage new and reallocated PCs as neededManage model stock of spare PCs, monitors, peripherals and other PC hardwarePerform periodic walk downs and equipment checks for Emergency Planning PC assets and IT systems in preparation for drills and exercisesRespond to PSEG Nuclear client inquiries and provide timely feedback and updates for assigned workSupport participation in the on call schedule; respond to after hours IT incidents and operational needs as assignedProvide support for video and audio-conferencing systems; ensure reliable performance for meetings, training sessions and plant operational activitiesParticipate in Emergency Planning (EP) drill scenarios and respond as required; ensure IT systems and PC assets function properly throughout drillsJob Specific Qualifications0-2 years technical experience required with a degree in STEM4-6 years related technical experience required with out a degreeA valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation is required for this jobMust meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access and maintain fitness-for-duty requirementsSome positions at PSEG require access to information covered by the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 (Part 810).
