Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Radar Diagnostics and Calibration Lead to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline supporting the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Program.This is an opportunity to serve as the system-level technical lead responsible for defining radar software behavior and ensuring correct interaction between hardware subsystems, diagnostics, and released software builds. This lead will be responsible for the strategic vision of Maintenance Engineering to ensure a Fault Detection and Fault Isolation (FDFI) foundation leading to CBM+ and prognostics fielded to the end user. You will translate operational needs, failure modes, and maintainability requirements into clear, guidance for systems/software implementation and act as the primary integration authority between software, systems, integration/test, and Deployment Fielding and Sustainment teams. Collaboration across the Systems Engineering (SE), Systems Integration and Test (SIT) and Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) CPTs will be required.This position can be based in Tewksbury, MA or Pelham, NHWhat you will do:Lead a team of SW / Systems engineers to meet strategic direction stated aboveLead FDFI and diagnostic maturity updates related to fault detection, isolation, and reporting logicCoordinate thread memo generation, review and approval for future system FDFI capabilitiesTranslate system/operational needs into clear direction for team to:Define clear, testable software requirementsAuthor SysCRs defining new functionality, corrections, and diagnostic behaviorAnalyze hardware–software interactions across LRUs, M3, gateway, and diagnostic infrastructureIdentify cross-subsystem impacts and integration risks before implementationDefine M3 software behaviors supporting soldier-replaceable LRUs and field maintenance workflowsDocument specific fault injection methods (through SW or HW) to support Stakeholder review of critical fault evaluationSupport build planning, prioritization, and release readinessTroubleshoot system-level issues during integration and field eventsParticipate in technical reviews to ensure accurate SW/HW integration and SysCR implementation.Maintain, document, and communicate deep radar system knowledge to reduce tribal dependencyQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience.Minimum of 10 years of experience in related Systems Engineering or Multi-Disciplined EngineeringExperience effectively leading multidisciplinary teams of systems engineering professionalsExperience with complex embedded or real-time systemsQualifications We Prefer:Self-starter – proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of actionExperience understanding full-system behavior, not component-level impactsExperience of reasoning through second/third-order effects of software changesExperience in understanding of end user capability / expectations / trainingUnderstand LRU logic and fault isolation techniquesExperience in preparing customer and/or management level briefingsExperience defining clear, testable requirements or change requestsExperience with RPL architecture, troubleshooting and debuggingFamiliar with configuration control and release processesExperience is understanding of B2 and B5 requirementsExperience in schedule development, action item management, requirement change management and overall development and progress metricsExperience working with external customers; including USG, or FMS partnersEVMS Certified (or equivalent)Experience in navigating the organization and working with stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program challengesExperience in technical leadership and guidance of multi-disciplined teams in the design and development of system requirements and design.What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
