Welcome to Bosch!Job DescriptionThe Line Planner is responsible for the daily technical performance of the assigned production line. This role serves as the primary engineering partner to Operations, ensuring equipment, processes, and cross-functional resources work together to maintain safe, stable, and efficient production.The Line Planner provides real-time visibility into line performance, coordinates issue resolution, leads structured escalation of production risks, and drives rapid recovery to standard operating conditions. While focused on daily execution, the Line Planner also identifies recurring issues and partners with the Process Group to implement long-term improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Production PerformanceOwn the daily technical performance of assigned production lines.Monitor machine status, production flow, and key performance metrics.Identify production risks and proactively communicate impacts to Operations.Issue Management & EscalationLead structured escalation of safety, quality, delivery, and equipment issues.Coordinate cross-functional resources including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and the Process Group.Ensure production issues are documented and communicated effectively.Production RecoveryDrive rapid problem solving to restore production to standard conditions.Verify that corrective actions achieve expected performance.Escalate recurring or systemic issues for long-term investigation.StandardizationMaintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and engineering standards.Support adherence to standardized work across the production line.Identify opportunities to improve standard work based on daily observations.Performance & Capacity SupportMonitor production performance trends and identify emerging risks.Support production planning through cycle time, capacity, and equipment performance analysis.Assist with launch activities and production readiness.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Line OEEDowntime reductionMean Time to Recovery (MTTR)Schedule attainmentFirst Pass Yield / Scrap performanceOn-time issue escalationCompletion of corrective actionsAccuracy of production reportingThe Line Planner is the engineering owner of daily production performance, ensuring manufacturing operates safely, efficiently, and consistently by coordinating rapid problem resolution, maintaining production standards, and enabling Operations to achieve stable performance every day.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.Experience3–7 years of manufacturing engineering or production engineering experience.Experience supporting automated high-volume manufacturing operations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex production dataExcellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, extreme willingness to share know-how.Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and operational excellenceTechnical SkillsRoot cause analysis (8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone)Lean Manufacturing principlesStatistical process understandingTRC & MRCManufacturing KPIs (OEE, FPY, Scrap, Tech/Org Downtime, Cycle Time)Microsoft Excel and data analysisMES, ERP, or production monitoring systems preferredDatabricks & Query language experience preferredSuccess ProfileA successful Line Planner is someone who:Thinks with urgency while remaining organized.Can quickly prioritize competing production issues.Communicates effectively across Operations, Maintenance, and Quality.Uses data to drive decisions rather than assumptions.Builds strong relationships across functions.Escalates issues early and follows through until resolution.Balances immediate production needs with continuous improvement opportunities.Additional InformationINTERACTIONThis position interacts with Operators, Operational Technicians, Special Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers and LeadershipBenefits IncludeCompetitive SalaryCompetitive Time Away from Work PolicyPaid Time Off (PTO): 16 days (Up to 30 days based on seniority)Personal Days (PAA): 5 daysCompany Paid Holidays: 9 daysPaid Parental Leave: 6 WeeksIndustry Best Retirement Benefit401k - 75% match up to the first 9% contributionUnique Bosch Defined Contribution (BDC) plan provides 100% company-funded 401(k) contributions, ranging from 2.5% to 6.5% of your pay, helping you secure your financial futureStudent Debt Retirement Savings MatchProfit Sharing Bonus (CPrP) up to 10%Medical, dental, and vision coverageOnsite Cafeteria with multiple menu optionsOnsite Starbucks CafeOnsite Bosch Store (Employee Discount)Your well-being matters at Bosch!
