Developmental Specialist - Full TimePay $19.50 / HOUR ($20.00 after one year.)NO WEEKEND, NO NIGHTS, NO HOLIDAY!Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pmPeople, Incorporated is a human service Agency serving the Southcoast community, including the Greater Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton areas. Let People, Incorporated be Your Path to Opportunity!Essential Functions:Recommend service plan goals, assist in completing annual severity profiles, and service needs assessments, as well as review new potential program individuals.Complete daily data sheets, including documentation for behavior services.Implement service plan goals, including therapeutic goals.Inform the supervisor or nursing staff of any unusual behavior and signs of illness or injury.Ensure all schedules are followed and individuals are engaged in activities.Ensure all protocols are followed, including, but not limited to, toileting, dining, dietary, Pica (persistent ingestion of nonnutritive substances), behavior guidelines, seizure, and safety.Complete daily communication logs.Complete monthly progress reports of service plan goals. (or as requested for relief staff)Maintain all program required trainings.Attend interdisciplinary team meetings as needed to participate in curriculum design. (or as requested for relief staff)Implement curriculum in accordance with individual service plans.Ensure positive behavior supports are implemented for all individuals.Maintain an expertise in the day habilitation field through attendance at meetings, in-service training, continuing education, or other appropriate educational programs.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, division management team member, or division director, including, but not limited to, working weekends and/or holidays.Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED is required. Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or a health care setting is preferred.Skill in communicating and working both independently and as a team.Ability to escort, assist, and/or transport program participants.Ability to work with mental health and/or developmentally disabled individuals.Ability to effectively participate in the design, implementation, and supervision of services.Ability to complete and disseminate all required forms and documents.Ability to assist and/or support consumers as needed and in emergencies that require full physical assistance.Ability to physically restrain consumers exhibiting unsafe behavior.Ability to follow policies, procedures, and directions.Ability to work and communicate with others.A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver's license are required.Why join our Team?Come work in a rewarding and creative environment that encourages growth, collaboration and community involvement that is exploding with opportunities.At People Incorporated you will find a path to endless opportunities and a rewarding career!
