Job summary and qualifications:

The central sterile technician is responsible for proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of instrumentation for surgery and outside departments.

What you will do in this role:

• Prepare instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing, and storing procedures.
• Understand the principles of sterilization techniques and operate sterilization equipment.
• Assemble all instruments, trays, and drill drays for operating rooms according to policies and procedures.
• Perform equipment distribution and routing cleaning and maintenance.
• Perform crash cart restocking/exchange.
• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Cert sterile proc/distrib tech, or certified registered central service technician, or certified sterile processing technician (CSPT), or certified surgical technician (CST) preferred.
