Controls Project Specialist

Responsibilities As a Controls Project Specialist, under limited supervision, you are responsible for project set up and seeing them through to full completion, with direct responsibility for project execution to accomplish specific goals within a given time frame and with limited resources. This includes project documentation, materials, job costing, status monitoring, invoicing, and administrative closeout of each project. Plans and reviews assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system goals. Connects and communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff. Reads and comprehends construction schedules. Schedules and participates in internal project team meetings to ensure accurate transfer of information. Validates cost to date and reconciles project data in business system. Manages invoicing process and coordinates format, layout, attachments, and mailing with Shared Financial Services. Reviews billing backlog and coordinates/communicates with Project Managers, HVAC Field Technicians, customers, and Trane claims as necessary to resolve obstacles. Shares project concerns with Project Manager and legal staff. Qualifications One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three (3) plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Participates in and contributes to lean improvement activities. Must have strong communication skills, a proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team. Proven experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines within a high‑paced environment. Previous experience with financial systems and basic accounting. Construction law and regulation knowledge is preferred. Familiarity with the operation of HVAC systems is preferred but not required. Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required. Regular travel to construction sites within the territory. Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations. Compensation Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $28.96 - $39.02. Compensation Type: Hourly.
