EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Driller

Location: Las Cruces, NM

Position: Driller is responsible for the operation of drilling equipment to ensure integrity and productivity. Perform drilling in accordance with planned work to be done while carefully following plans and specifications. Position requires overtime to meet the needs of our customers.

Experience: 1 (or more) year of experience as a driller. Experience with 592 rock drill and Sandvik 550, 1500 and 800 is a plus but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.

Technical Requirements:

·         Fluent in the use of equipment’s operator, parts, and technical manuals.

·         Fluent in the operation of top hammer and/or down the hole cab drills.

·         Satisfy the requirements for a “possessor of explosives” as defined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

·         Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Essential Functions:

·         Practices behavior consistent with company policies and procedures from applicable technical modules, all company SOP, work site, regulatory and safety policies, and procedures.

·         Communicate effectively with colleagues and manager.

·         Knowledge of drill and blast outcomes and blasting.

·         Ability to perform a thorough drill area inspection, workplace examination.

·         Responsible for maintaining, servicing, repairing, and operating drilling equipment.

·         Willing and capable to perform preventative maintenance on drill.

·         Understands the various methods of determining angles & drill depths of face holes or presplit.

·         Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspection and complete daily equipment reports.

·         Ability to manage tooling costs.

·         Reliable, good time management skills.

·         Willing to work overtime to meet the needs of our customers.

·         Company focused.

·         Desire to move into lead driller role.

·         Safety focused at all times. Report potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

·         Develop professional relationships with customers. Participate in customer safety processes.

·         Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.

·         Travel extensively throughout New Mexico to various worksites. Overnight stays required.

Working Environment: Must be able to work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, temperatures, and climates. Physically travel between remote field locations. Must wear personal protective equipment where required. May require lifting of up to 60 lbs.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-12 hours a day, based on customer need

Pay: Starting at $24.50/hour
