Tackle Department ManagerThe Turner's Outdoorsman Tackle Department Manager assists the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in the performance of his/her duties. Follows the premise of being the business and cultural leader of the store team, responsible for achieving sales goals, customer satisfaction, and profitability growth as well as understanding, practicing, and being a strong proponent of the Turner's brand and the company culture. The Tackle Department Manager is a retail professional role model in attitude and appearance skilled in the art of communication and customer service, who possesses the ability to teach these skills to the team and ultimately lead by example. Must have tackle experience.Essential FunctionsResponsible for operations of the departmentConducts sales & cashier trainingProvides excellent customer service and salesmanshipEffectively advertises and promotes Turner's Outdoorsman products and eventsEnsures customers enjoy a full service and high value shopping experienceReceives stock and displays merchandiseSources, places and follows up on ordersResponsible for audit records accuracyResponsible for accurately receiving merchandisePerform other duties as assigned which includes but not limited to covering employee breaks and/or lunches in other departments as neededQualificationsHigh school graduate (or GED) required, college graduate or some college preferredFluent in EnglishMust have at least 2 years of prior retail and sales experience in a lead position.Knowledge about hunting, fishing/tackle, and shooting sports.Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment.Must be 21 years or olderCustomer service experiencePhysical RequirementsResponsible for loading/unloading trucks, lifting up to 50 pounds without assistanceMust be able to use both hands when handling a firearmMust be able to use a computer proficiently and grasp instruction to new software programsMust be able to stand, sit, bend and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shiftTravel RequirementsOccasional travel is required (approximately 20% of the time-participating in events, training seminars, corporate meetings if Store Manager is unavailable or opening new store locations as needed)HoursHours-at least 45 hours per week are required, varied-OT may be requiredRequests for time off may or may not be granted during black-out periodsTurner's Outdoorsman is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
