Position Overview The Medina Behavioral Health Center in Aurora, Colorado, is seeking passionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselors to join our full-time team. Work Environment This position is uniquely structured as a remote opportunity, which allows you to engage with clients from the comfort of your own home while still having access to a supportive office environment. Our work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility expected to meet the needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the individual needs of patients and formulate personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific circumstances and goals. Utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to deliver effective individual and group therapy sessions. Facilitate support groups that allow patients to connect with each other and build community while addressing common mental health challenges. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, ensuring cohesive and holistic treatment strategies for all patients. Provide immediate crisis intervention services to support patients facing acute mental health emergencies. Educate clients on mental health conditions, available treatment options, and local resources to empower them on their journey to recovery. Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with best practices in documentation. Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in the field. Patient Population / Client Focus Our patient population is diverse, encompassing individuals from different backgrounds and walks of life who are experiencing a wide array of mental health challenges. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will work with adults, adolescents, and families, providing tailored support that considers their cultural, social, and psychological contexts. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an Accredited Institution is required. Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Colorado. Proficiency in therapeutic interventions and a robust understanding of mental health disorders. Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective, individualized treatment strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for building rapport with patients. Knowledge of ethical standards and sound judgment in maintaining professional boundaries. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient care effectively. Team-oriented mindset, committed to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience Previous experience in outpatient mental health settings is preferred, with demonstrated success in delivering individual and group therapy. Experience working with diverse populations and understanding the unique challenges they face in mental health. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
