Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse, Kansas City, MO This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a telemetry unit at a busy healthcare facility. The role requires accurate interpretation of EKGs and telemetry strips, along with post-cardiac procedural care, including cardiac catheterizations and pacemaker placements.

Job Details

• Position Description: 48 hours guaranteed, with an option; Night shift; Full-time schedule including three weekend shifts per scheduling period.
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of clinical experience in telemetry or PCU/ICU settings; ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications; ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips; experience with post-cardiac procedural care such as Ablations, cardiac catheterizations, and post-op open heart care; capable of administering and titrating IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube management, temporary pacemaker handling, Foley insertions, and patient education. Knowledge of Meditech electronic documentation system is required.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs, or black scrub pants with a navy blue top.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to areas where competency is demonstrated.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates should be prepared to provide proof of certifications and relevant experience.
