Job Summary The Tool & Die Maker will use drawings, sketches, concept models, etc. to determine project specifications. They are required to set up and operate machine tools, finish, adjust parts, and test tools to ensure quality standards are met. Outstanding mechanical and mathematical skills are required while crafting tools and dies. Exceptional technical expertise and a positive team‑oriented attitude are essential for this position. Essential Duties Set up and operate conventional or CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders and Wire EDM machines, to produce parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Construct, alter and repair a variety of tools, metal stamping dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to close tolerances. Read and interpret blueprints and sketches. Develop and design new tools and dies using computer‑aided design software; Mastercam experience is a plus. Select materials to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness, durability, and application. Have a good working knowledge of a variety of progressive dies with a strong ability to troubleshoot. Must perform well in a team‑centered Safety First environment. Qualifications H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. 5 years of manufacturing experience. Ability to demonstrate proficient use of both conventional and CNC machining equipment. Physical ability and stamina required to perform diversified maintenance work in a manufacturing plant. Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds. Preferred Apprenticeship Certification Preferred. 2 years Associate Degree. General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Lock, Tag, Verify training. Experience with industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Understanding of theoretical concepts as well as practical application. Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
