Retail Assistant Manager

Party Heroes is a specialty Retail Party Store that specializes in Balloons and select party supplies. The Assistant Manager will be expected to follow not only the position of Team Lead but will also handle Marketing/Social Media needs. This candidate will accomplish business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans; negotiating product pricing and enhancing store merchandise layout to optimize retail sales. Essential Duties: Identifies sales opportunities by identifying consumer requirements - Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product selection - Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities Manage placement of store merchandise to optimize retail sales volume Collaborates with key stakeholders in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company Performs sales activities on commercial helium accounts and negotiates sales price and discounts in consultation with key stakeholders Resolves sales or delivery issues with commercial accounts Prospecting and developing new client relationships within a defined geography or market Making actionable and insightful recommendations for new products, extensions, or enhancements Related Duties Act in the capacity of a Party Hero as needed for profitable store operations (the hours will vary based on time of year and store staffing needs Assist in other tasks, duties, or projects as assigned Knowledge of: Advanced principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service Retail industry operations and best practices Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, negotiating, sales and marketing, business development and growth Windows based software Skills: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in an efficient and professional manner Superior organizational skills with a high quality of accuracy and attention to detail in both written and verbal communications Superior business and negotiation skills Ability to learn new skills quickly, work and be flexible with deadlines, solve problems effectively, and handle multiple priorities Ability to be proactive and self-directed while working professionally in a team environment to resolve issues and meet deadlines Skills continues Use quantitative techniques to analyze results and make decisions Exercise sound decision-making abilities Ability and willingness to travel Ability to maintain up to date records of orders, deliveries and receivables Equipment: Use of computer technology and cash register Use of multi-line telephone Use of helium tank Training and Experience: Minimum 1 year of outside sales experience Associates degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent Valid drivers license Physical Requirements: Ability to work in crowded environments and/or small or narrow spaces Ability to remain in a stationary position for 25% of the time Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to reach products Frequently communicate with customers and employees Ability to travel to multiple customer locations Ability to push, pull or move up to 90 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations Stooping, standing, walking, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, typing and feeling Nothing in this job description restricts management right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time #J-18808-Ljbffr
