Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities.
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
• Adhere to the applicable State Practice Act and all regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervision channels to maximize quality outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop clinically appropriate treatment plans and goals.
• Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
• Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and ethical standards.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient and employee safety practices.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
• Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students.
• Active involvement in continuing education and professional development activities.
