Brands supported within the Metals segment include: Alumicor, EFCO, Linetec, and Tubelite.Job OverviewJourneyman Electrician II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all electrical systems operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting overall production goals. The Journeyman Electrician works with other maintenance staff to maintain optimal performance of all electrical components in compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes.Key Responsibilities1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with electrical codes and company standards. Run conduit, wiring, and cable for new installations and expansions. Install and maintain lighting, motors, control systems, and other electrical devices.2. Diagnose electrical problems, using blueprints, schematics, and testing instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters. Perform corrective maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls. Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure safety.3. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and components to identify potential issues. Perform preventive maintenance tasks to extend the life of electrical equipment and reduce the risk of unexpected failures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.4. Ensure that all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as company safety policies. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety procedures at all times. Participate in safety training and ensure that all electrical work is performed safely and responsibly.5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical installations, repairs, and inspections. Update electrical schematics and diagrams as changes are made to systems. Report any safety concerns or required improvements to the Maintenance Supervisor.6. Work closely with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and production staff to address electrical issues and improve system reliability. Provide technical support and guidance to junior electricians and maintenance staff. Coordinate with contractors and outside vendors for specialized electrical work as needed.7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical system performance and reduce downtime. Stay current with advancements in electrical technology and industry best practices. Suggest improvements to electrical systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.8.
