Preoperative Registered Nurse (RN) Position

Schedule

This position offers either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week. Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational demands. Participation in the weekend rotation and on-call schedule is required, including one weekend scheduled shift and one secondary call day per scheduling period.

Job Description

The Preoperative Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in the surgical center's preoperative area. This role includes scrubbing for surgeries, preoperative care, and working collaboratively with the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments for patients.
• Assist with various surgical procedures and stay informed about patient care.
• Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding preoperative protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Allscripts and prepare for upcoming EPIC go-live.
• Participate in charge nurse duties as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required.
• IV skills and surgical care knowledge are essential.
• Experience in robotics and scrubbing is a must.
