Corporate Human Resources Generalist - Dallas, TX

Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist supports the full spectrum of HR operations for Phoenix American Hospitality (PAH) Management, LLC, a Dallas-based hotel management company with 11 properties across five states and approximately 330 associates. Reporting directly to the Corporate Director of Human Resources, this role serves as the primary administrative and operational partner for the HR function, supporting a lean corporate team that moves fast and stays people focused. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role with meaningful responsibility from day one. The right candidate is organized, discreet, genuinely service-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a multi-state, multi-brand environment. Travel to hotel properties may be required on a periodic basis. What You'll Do Recruiting and Onboarding

- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting for hourly and non-management positions, including posting, screening, scheduling, and offer letters.
- Manage and continuously improve the new hire onboarding experience across all 11 properties, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a strong first impression.
- Maintain job posting templates and job description library; update as roles evolve.
- Track open requisitions and new hire activity in the HR tracking workbook and position control roster.
- Maintain accurate personnel files (electronic and physical) for all corporate and field associates.
- Enter and audit employee data in ADP Workforce Now, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and position changes.
- Support ongoing ADP data integrity efforts, including position code cleanup and configuration updates.
- Serve as a point of contact for associate benefits questions, coordinating with the Brown & Brown broker team for escalations.
- Assist with open enrollment communications, eligibility tracking, and benefits orientation for new hires.
- Support leave administration (FMLA, ADA, personal leave), including tracking, documentation, and coordination with managers.
- Provide first-line support on employee relations matters, escalating complex or sensitive situations to the Corporate Director of HR.
- Assist with investigations, documentation, and follow-up on workplace complaints, ensuring thorough and timely records.
- Help prepare performance counseling documentation, PIPs, and separation paperwork as directed.
- Maintain the Active ER Case Tracker; ensure all cases have current status and documentation.
- Support multi-state HR compliance across Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, and North Carolina, with particular attention to state-specific wage, leave, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Assist with policy updates, handbook revisions, and SOP maintenance under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
- Ensure Workman's Comp and Incident reports are coordinated and updated with legal firm, keeping HR Director abreast of updates and information needed.
- Maintain I-9 files, posters, and required notices across all properties.
- Track unemployment claims, garnishments, and other legal/admin items in the shared tracker with the Hotel Administrator.
- Coordinate logistics for GM and manager training sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up documentation.
- Assist in developing and distributing the monthly HR communications and associate newsletter.
- Support the rollout of recognition programs and associate engagement initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports, org charts, and data summaries as requested.
- Maintain HR forms library and ensure current, accurate versions are accessible to all properties.
- Assist with property visits as needed, including pre-visit prep and post-visit reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 to 4 years of progressively responsible HR experience; hotel or hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal employment law, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and EEO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines, and shifting demands.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating with associates and managers at all levels.
- Experience supporting HR functions across multiple locations or states.
- Familiarity with Marriott, Hilton, or Hyatt brand standards and associate programs.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, including data entry, reporting, and position management.
- This position is based in-office at the PAH corporate office in Dallas, TX.
- Periodic travel to hotel properties (approximately 10 to 15 percent of time) is required; some overnight travel may be necessary.
- Extended periods of computer use. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (files, materials).
