Quality Control Representative

Utility-Scale Field Quality Control RepresentativeR-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced and motivated Utility-Scale Field Quality Control Representative to support quality assurance and quality control activities on utility-scale power, renewable energy, transmission, and substation projects throughout the United States. This field-based role is responsible for ensuring construction activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations while working closely with field operations to promote quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.Working alongside Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and project teams, the Field Quality Control Representative performs inspections, verifies workmanship, coordinates testing, maintains quality documentation, and helps identify and resolve quality issues before they impact production.Success in this role is measured by the ability to maintain exceptional quality standards, support safe and efficient project execution, and reinforce the R-2 standard of excellence.Position: Utility-Scale Field Quality Control RepresentativeLocation: Initial Project located in Wadsworth, NV (Nationwide job sites to follow)Travel Requirements:This is a field-based position requiring 100% travel to active project sites throughout the United StatesCandidates must be willing to travel extensively and work extended schedules as required to support project demandsSalary: $90k - $120k DOEKey Responsibilities:Perform daily field inspections to verify work complies with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and customer requirementsInspect heavy civil, earthwork, underground utilities, trenching, concrete foundations, drilled pier foundations, and Horizontal Directional Drilling activities as applicableVerify layout, dimensions, elevations, grades, tolerances, and completed work prior to acceptanceCoordinate material testing, field testing, and third-party inspection activitiesDocument inspection results, test reports, deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality recordsMonitor construction activities to identify quality concerns before they become rework or schedule impactsWork closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, survey crews, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issuesAssist with implementation and enforcement of project-specific Quality Control PlansMaintain organized project quality documentation and support project turnover requirementsParticipate in customer meetings, quality audits, and project inspections as requiredPromote a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the projectSupport field leadership by providing technical guidance related to quality standards and specificationsLead by example while living and reinforcing the R-2 Core Values every dayRequirements:Minimum 5 years of quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or field construction experience within heavy civil, underground utilities, concrete, renewable energy, or utility-scale infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, utility-scale concrete foundations, underground utility installation, grading, trenching, drilled pier foundations, and Horizontal Directional Drilling operationsExperience reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, shop drawings, testing requirements, and construction documentsKnowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, and industry standards including ASTM and AASHTOExperience coordinating testing agencies, inspectors, and subcontractorsStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively with field operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic project documentation systemsDemonstrated commitment to safety, accountability, quality workmanship, and operational excellenceWillingness to travel nationwide and work extended hours as project schedules requireValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and background checkWhat Success Looks Like:The successful Utility-Scale Field Quality Control Representative:Consistently identifies and resolves quality concerns before they impact project performanceMaintains complete, accurate, and timely quality documentationBuilds positive working relationships with field operations while maintaining quality standardsSupports successful project inspections, testing, and customer acceptanceEarns the trust and confidence of project teams and customers through professionalism and technical expertiseStrengthens R-2 by continuously improving quality, consistency, safety, and operational performanceOur Leadership Philosophy:At R-2 Contractors, technical expertise may open the door—but leadership is defined by how you develop people, build teams, and live our Core Values.
