Pharmacist - Night Shift

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $71.00/hour

Schedule: Night Shift | 7 shifts on / 7 shifts off | 7:30 PM-7:30 AM | 3×12-hour shifts

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to support a leading pediatric healthcare organization in Houston, TX . This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with hospital experience who is skilled in medication safety, sterile compounding, and providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients from infancy through adulthood.

Responsibilities

• Review medication orders to ensure appropriate dosing based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, drug interactions, and other clinical factors.

   

• Accurately enter and verify medication orders in the pharmacy information system.

   

• Ensure medications are prepared, dispensed, and delivered accurately and within established guidelines.

   

• Identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug-related problems.

   

• Promote medication safety and quality pharmaceutical care.

   

• Prepare sterile products using proper aseptic technique and infection control practices .

   

• Maintain required competency and annual recertification for sterile compounding.

   

• Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

   

• Support a safe, compliant, and patient-centered hospital pharmacy environment.

   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharm.D., or equivalent pharmacy degree required.

   

• Current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist (RPh) license required.

   

• 2+ years of hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred , particularly medication preparation.

   

• Hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred.

   

• Experience with sterile compounding and aseptic technique preferred.

   

• Completion of 20 hours of sterile compounding training accredited by ACPE or ASHP preferred.

   

• Strong knowledge of medication safety, drug interactions, dosing, and clinical pharmacy practices.

   

• Excellent attention to detail, critical-thinking, communication, and decision-making skills.

   

• Ability to work independently and effectively during overnight shifts.

   

• Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and regulatory compliance.
