Assignment Overview

Join the emergency department team in Libertyville, IL. This position is ideal for a registered nurse with 2 years of recent ED experience, capable of handling various emergency patient types, including trauma and stroke care. The unit accommodates a heavy behavioral health population alongside general medical emergency cases.

• Orientation: Day 1 with an educator, followed by preceptor orientation on Days 2-3

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics
• Perform IV starts, assist with chest tube insertion, and manage medication titration
• Administer and manage treatment for stroke using TPA
• Handle ICU holds and manage critical care until transfer
• Draw blood cultures with adherence to technique to prevent contamination

Qualifications

Required:

• 2 years of recent emergency department experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC certifications
• Proficiency in EPIC charting system
• Experience with IV starts and trauma/stroke patient care

Preferred:

• TCRN, TNS, ENPC certifications
• US guided IV skills
