Sr Controls Engineer
Medtronic
Senior Controls Engineer position supporting advanced manufacturing automation at a medical device production facility in Colorado. Leads design, development, and validation of automated assembly and test equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Lead development, integration, and deployment of automated assembly and test equipment
- Define equipment requirements, technical specifications, controls architecture, and project deliverables
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and data acquisition systems
- Provide technical oversight of equipment suppliers for compliance and performance specifications
- Lead factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and equipment validation activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years controls/automation engineering experience, or Master's with 2+ years, or PhD
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience on manufacturing equipment
- HMI development and industrial automation systems integration expertise
- Leadership experience managing automation projects from specification through validation
- Background supporting regulated manufacturing environments
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required for non-Principal level roles
