Manual Machinist Opportunity

Surestaff is hiring for an experienced Manual Machinist for a large manufacturing client located in Valparaiso, IN. This position will manufacture parts per blueprint, or process instruction, ensuring all specifications are met. This is a Direct Hire opportunity. Hourly pay is $36.47/hr, paying overtime after 8 hours. (Equates to $87,360/yr). Available shifts: D-Shift: 6p-6a, Thursday-Friday-Saturday & every other Wednesday. Must be available to train on a day-shift schedule.

Responsibilities of the Machinist:

• Operate a surface grinder, lathe, polishing wheel, drill press, hand tools, and mill (tolerances within.0001).
• Assemble, clean and adjust intricate die set assemblies
• Ensure that every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company
• Follow all company safety protocol
• Ability to read tooling & die prints
• Ability to make decisions when troubleshooting material defects from potential compromised tooling

Preferred Qualifications of the Machinist:

• 5+ years of experience with manual machines (specifically manual milling, manual grinding, manual lathes)
• Experience working with tolerances within.0001
• Must possess strong basic math skills
• Must have great attention to detail
• Must be able to work independently, ideally possessing leadership skills
