Junior Safety and Occupational Health Analyst

Position Overview APT Research is hiring a Junior Safety and Occupational Health Analyst in Huntsville, AL to support MDA on our MAPSS Safety contract. APT is an employee‑owned engineering services company specializing in conducting safety and quality analyses for the U.S. Government. Key Responsibilities Perform job hazard analysis, risk assessment, and other analytical techniques to identify and evaluate high‑risk program areas involving new or revised operations, hazardous materials, and other adverse conditions. Investigate accidents and mishaps, meet reporting requirements and apply investigation techniques. Assess construction standards, practices, and materials to determine compliance with building safety standards, develop effective controls for work and equipment hazards in new construction or modifications. Apply basic concepts, methods, and techniques used by environmentalists, industrial hygienists, safety engineers, fire prevention specialists and other occupational health specialists. Apply industrial processes and operations standards, methods, and practices. Apply environmental principles, practices, procedures, and laws related to hazardous chemicals and toxic waste. Prepare, present, and defend technical reports, briefings, or other technical material verbally and in writing. Required Education / Experience Experience in job hazard analysis, risk assessment, and related techniques. Minimum 2 years of experience. Security Clearance Requirement Must be able to qualify for an unescorted badge (US citizen required) and pass a background investigation and drug test. Essential Job Functions Work in an office environment. Provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written. Interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers. Travel Requirements Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.). Physical Requirements Sitting for extended periods at a workstation or desk. Other Essential Functions Work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment. Wear appropriate work attire that does not pose safety risks to the employee or others.
