Social Media Manager (Hybrid)Irvine, CASocial Media ManagerThe Sport & Entertainment Social Media Manager will lead and execute the social media strategy for the Sports & Entertainment vertical as part of the Marketing Department, reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Sports & Entertainment. This role owns social channel management, the content calendar, and community engagement, driving culturally relevant storytelling that connects the brand with sports fans, entertainment audiences, partners, and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, event-driven environments and has a strong pulse on sports and entertainment culture.The Impact You'll MakeDevelop, own, and implement a comprehensive social media strategy in support of Sports & Entertainment business objectives and integrated marketing campaigns.Set and manage the Sports & Entertainment content calendar, prioritizing timing, sequencing, and content mix to drive consistent, high-impact audience engagement.Oversee the development, curation and publishing of compelling content including copy, graphics, short-form video, live coverage and platform-specific storytelling across Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn.Direct and make judgement calls on real-time social coverage during live sporting events, entertainment activations, partnerships, and key cultural moments.Develop engaging, platform-optimized messaging that reflects brand voice while resonating with sports and entertainment audiences.Guide day-to-day community engagement, including monitoring comments, DMs, and trending conversations and escalating brand or reputational considerations as appropriate.Advise and partner cross-functionally with marketing, creative, partnerships, PR, and brand teams to align messaging and campaign execution.Evaluate performance metrics (engagement, reach, growth, video views, CTR) and translate into actionable recommendations.Assess and activate emerging trends, viral moments, and partnership opportunities to increase reach, engagement and brand relevance.Oversee social strategy and coordinated execution for athlete, artist, influencer, and sponsorship activations through coordinated social promotion and campaign oversight.What You've AccomplishedBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).3–5 years of experience in social media management, preferably within sports, entertainment, media, or lifestyle brands.Proven experience managing brand social channels and content calendars.Strong understanding of sports culture, entertainment trends, and digital fan engagement.Experience covering live events and real-time content publishing.Proficiency in major social platforms and social management tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.Analytical mindset with experience using social media reporting tools.Creative thinker with the ability to translate cultural moments into engaging brand content.Bonus PointsExperience working with athletes, entertainers, influencers, or sponsorship partners.Familiarity with paid social strategy and boosting content.Experience with short-form video editing tools (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, etc.).Knowledge of NIL, sponsorship activations, and sports marketing campaigns.Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends for live events.The base pay range for this position is $89,000 - $105,505 per year, and a competitive bonus.2026 US Benefits for Full Time, Regular EmployeesPhysical Health (Medical, Dental & Vision) 100% employer-paid premium for employeesUp to 80% coverage for dependentsCompany HSA contribution with the High Deductible Health Plan401(k) Retirement Plan (employer will match contribution up to 3.5% of employee contribution)Basic Life, Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance optionsSupplemental, voluntary benefits Student Loan Repayment/529 Education Savings with a monthly company contributionFSA (Medical, Dependent, Transit and Parking)Voluntary Life and AD&D InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceAccident InsuranceShort- and Long-term Disability InsurancePet InsuranceIdentity theft protectionLegal access to a network of attorneysPTO, paid sick leave, and company holidays (including a 2026 holiday shutdown)Paid parental leaveWhy Work at Weedmaps?Life at Weedmaps means innovation and heart.
