Material Handler III (Warehouse Lead) – 2nd & 3rd ShiftThis role serves as an advanced-level Material Handler and Warehouse Lead, responsible for coordinating and performing a wide range of material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities on 2nd or 3rd shift. You will support day-to-day warehouse operations, help resolve routine issues, and ensure an efficient and accurate flow of materials in a fast-paced, GMP-regulated environment. Flexibility to work across different shifts for training and operational needs is important.ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced-level material handling functions, including picking, packing, loading, and staging materials to support daily warehouse operations.Lead and coordinate warehouse activities on shift, providing guidance and support to team members in shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks.Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet more complex operational requirements as needed.Effectively flex between operations such as order picking, packing, box making, weighing, and shipping and receiving tasks.Resolve routine questions and operational problems independently, escalating more complex or non-routine issues to higher levels when appropriate.Maintain and continuously improve warehouse processes and quality systems, supporting the achievement of quality objectives through daily actions.Manage or support the release of deliveries in Exacta or similar systems through the allocation process to ensure timely order fulfillment.Correct order issues as needed to maintain the consistent flow of materials and minimize disruptions to operations.Communicate and help resolve inventory issues to ensure accurate stock levels and smooth order processing.Interface with internal customers and other departments to coordinate shipments, receipts, and inventory needs and to support overall customer satisfaction.Coordinate the functions of shipping, receiving, and inventory as needed, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and documented correctly.Conduct or participate in inventory audits and cycle counts to monitor inventory levels, verify accuracy, and forecast needs for future orders.Use RF scanners and inventory systems, such as SAP or other warehouse management tools, to perform data entry, track materials, and maintain accurate records.Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and related material handling tools, in a safe and efficient manner.Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and relevant quality and safety standards in all warehouse activities.Follow company and departmental cultural expectations while collaborating effectively with team members across shifts.Manage assigned processes and workflows as needed, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.Serve as a backup for Process Specialist responsibilities when required, supporting specialized tasks within the warehouse.Maintain organized work areas, including packing and box-making stations, to support efficient and safe operations.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.At least 1 year of related experience in warehouse, material handling, or similar operations.Thorough understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) principles and their application in a warehouse or production environment.Proficiency with standard computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Experience using SAP or other inventory management systems.Ability to use RF scanners and perform accurate data entry for inventory and order processing.Knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, order picking, packing, and inventory control.Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and related warehouse tools (where licensed or certified as required).Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal customers and team members.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to work flexibly across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts for training and operational needs.Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and handle constant movement throughout the shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a Warehouse Lead, Shipping Lead, or Receiving Lead capacity is highly beneficial.Experience in inventory systems, cycle counting, and inventory counting processes.Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving activities, including weighing, packaging, and box making.Familiarity with Exacta or similar allocation and delivery release systems.Specialized knowledge of particular warehouse areas, systems, or equipment.Experience coordinating with multiple departments to support customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.Demonstrated ability to manage or coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory functions in a fast-paced environment.Why Work Here?You will join a collaborative, quality-focused operation where your contributions directly support reliable, accurate, and efficient warehouse performance. You will regularly move between different zones while performing picking, packing, box making, and related material handling tasks. The role requires comfort working in cold temperatures and being on your feet for the majority of the shift, with constant movement throughout the department. Work is performed on 2nd shift (1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) or 3rd shift (9:15 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday), with flexibility needed to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift for training. The environment is fast-paced and process-driven, with regular use of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, RF scanners, and computers running inventory systems and standard office software.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.43 - $27.43/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
