String Teaching Artist

String Teaching Artist for Kids 4 Harmony (North Adams and Pittsfield) (Flexible hours – 20-30 hours/week) 18 Degrees is where new beginnings come to light for children and families – join us on our journey into a new day! At 18 Degrees, we cultivate teams and leaders to embrace the principles of diversity, equity and inclusiveness to support the needs of our community. The String Teaching Artist will work in our North Adams and/or Pittsfield sites (depending on availability) and can work 3-5 days a week up [20 hours per week or 2nd Position is 25-30 hours per week]. There is flexibility with scheduling in our after-school programming. Requires own transportation and travel. This teacher will teach fundamental technique on violin with beginning, intermediate, and advanced school-aged string ensembles and lessons focused on age-appropriate skill development for young musicians and building community through ensemble playing. Instruction also includes private and semi-private lessons. An ideal candidate will have experience with trauma-informed education and believe in music as a vehicle for social change.
