Join Maps Credit Union and help ensure electronic payments are accurate, secure, and efficient for more than 87,000 members. In this role, you will keep ACH processing running smoothly with minimal errors, support debit and credit card administration, including dispute resolution and card provisioning, and contribute to the future of payments through initiatives such as FedNow, RTP, and process automation that reduces manual work.

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in ACH operations and a strong understanding of Regulation E, Regulation Z, and NACHA rules. An Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification, or a commitment to earning one, is preferred, and we support professional development by covering certification costs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain member database by processing ACH member transactions in an accurate and timely manner.  Prepare periodic reports by calculating or changing data fields and collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information trends.

2. Maintain member records, account ledgers, subsidiary accounts, and general ledger accounts by posting timely, accurate transactions.  

3. Responsible for tasks assigned including up-to-date, accurate documentation, timely task completion, cross-training others, and arranging team coverage when needed.

4. Perform assigned database maintenance including, but not limited to, report generation, daily transfer of data to the imaging system, and management reports.  

5. Perform critical follow-up on exception items and disputes.   

6. Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include compliance with NACHA, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags, Reg E, Reg Z, CARD Act and other compliance-related policies.

7. Support audit preparation with data & report compilation. 

8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying new and existing regulations and practices, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.  Complete all in-house compliance and required training courses in a timely manner.

9. Maintain financial security by following internal auditing controls and by appropriately safeguarding sensitive information.  Support and maintain adherence to Maps Record Retention Schedule and use of data systems to ensure data and research integrity, as well as information security.

10. Continuously strive to meet organizational objectives through personal and department goals.

11. Maintain records by filing/scanning documents.  Answer inquiries and resolve problems by collecting, researching, analyzing, copying, and mailing data and documents.

12. Maintain inter- and intradepartmental workflow by providing information to and cooperating with co-workers. 

13. Contribute to team effort by serving on primary team and accomplishing related results, including cross-training, providing cross-training, and providing back-up support to team members. 

14. Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions, reviewing professional publications, and maintaining professional relationships.

15. Demonstrate leadership by guiding and motivating others to take actions that support the vision and goals of the department and organization.

16. Maintain member records, account records and database integrity through accurate setup and maintenance of member accounts, electronic transactions, debit card agreements, swaps, ACH and debit card interface systems.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist with staff training as needed; oversee department staff and act in the absence of the department manager as directed.

2. Contribute to process improvement by continually assessing assigned tasks and communicating potential solutions.

3. Participate in committee and team projects outside the department as assigned by the Department Manager.

4. Contribute to attaining Credit Union objectives by accomplishing related results as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and 

project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, 

and over the phone.  

2. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, presentation/public speaking capability.

3. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate to advanced computer skills, including 

the use of word processing and Excel spreadsheet software applications and e-mail.

4. Ability to operate ten-key by touch.

5. Advanced understanding/application of electronic payment processing and settlement.         

6. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem-

prevention, and problem-solving skills.

7. Demonstrated ability to manage departmental projects from planning phase through.

implementation.

8. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.

9. Strong organizational skills.

10. Understanding of Credit Union products and services.

11. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. 

12. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and strictly adhere to internal controls.

13. Ability to work with co-workers, members, and outside agencies professionally and 

tactfully.

14. Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy.

15. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Banking or equivalent financial experience and related (i.e., accounting, computer science, finance, management) college-level courses or a combination of education and financial industry-specific training.

2. Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated progressive electronic processing and settlement related responsibilities in credit union and/or financial institution environment.

3. ACH Professional Accreditation (AAP) preferred.  

4. Must be bondable.

Salary Range: $57,205 - $71,505 per year, depending on experience.

Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM.

Must be available to work an occasional 4-hour Saturday rotation.

This position is eligible for hybrid work if desired (2 days in the office and 3 days remote per week). It is not 100% remote.
