Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Designer to join our engineering team. This role will play a critical part in supporting both sustaining engineering efforts and new product development. The ideal candidate will work closely with design engineers, the shop floor, and other departments to ensure accurate, timely, and manufacturable design documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Document designs using 3D solid (SolidWorks and/or OnShape) and 2D drafting software (AutoCAD).

• Create detailed drawings of 3D models (SolidWorks and/or OnShape).

• Conversion of 2D to 3D Onshape drawings.

• Maintain revision control on drawings and other controlled documents.

• Work directly with contractors to resolve drawing errors and provide solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Existing experience as Load King Engineering Intern in good standing with the company.

• Performing detail-oriented work requiring high levels of accuracy

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from manager

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees

• Strong desire to learn

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, OnShape Inventor, AutoCAD, Draftsight, etc

• Experience with MS Office, specifically Excel and Word

• Experience using Monday.com

• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

• Mechanical skills and experience with heavy trucks and equipment is a plus

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Remote work may be required to travel onsite in Kansas City, MO occasionally for training.
