A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SCHOOL JANITOR - CLEANER

As a School Janitor - Cleaner, you keep our facilities looking good. You arrive for each custodial shift ready to get to work cleaning. You enjoy “getting in the zone” and working efficiently but are also friendly and service oriented. Whether it’s dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, sanitizing, restocking rooms, or doing other janitorial work, you love the satisfaction of checking off tasks. You remove the trash and transport it to the appropriate areas. As needed, you help out with light maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs. At the end of each custodial shift, you feel proud seeing the school shine! Qualifications Minimum Requirements At least 6 months of experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc. Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent A valid driver's license with a 3-year driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoor/Outdoor (Occasional exposure to moderate weather conditions) Noise level: Moderate Office conditions: Pace of work environment: Medium Customer Interaction: High Description of environment: School facility Frequently required to walk and stand. Occasionally required to lift. Rarely required to pull and push. Physical requirements: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
