Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring cardiac, vascular, and thoracic experience in a Level 2 trauma hospital setting.

Details

• Hospital CVOR unit with 3 operating rooms staffed by 9 team members
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 scrub techs, and 1 aide, with a 3-member call team at night
• Staffing ratio of 3 team members per OR
• Open heart equipment used in the unit
• Uses Meditech EMR
• 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM scheduled shift plus call and late stays
• Call requirement includes one weekend per month and 2-3 days per week
• Performs procedures including CABG, valves, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation/interventions, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, angiograms with interventions, LVAD, RVAD, and ECMO
• Level 2 trauma coverage provided for all vascular and thoracic procedures
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital setting experience required
• Cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NH state license must be in hand at time of consideration, if applicable
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• Experience scrubbing cardiac and vascular cases preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Punctuality and a 30-minute call-back time required
• Flexible schedule availability required
• No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Function as a key member of the surgical team supporting complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• On-call team includes 2 RNs and a scrub tech each night, providing nursing backup support during call shifts
• Join a stable, long-tenured team with members who have been with the unit for nearly 20 years
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Time off requests must be submitted and included in the contract
• Facility located on the New Hampshire seacoast, approximately one hour north of Boston
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, with no exceptions for local candidates
• First-time travelers may be considered
