Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist provides support to district employees from first application to end of employment. This position plays an important role in recruiting and retaining quality employees, positively supporting all district staff, and orienting employees to district culture. This position is a member of the district Human Resources team, working to ensure smooth daily operations, positive experiences for staff, and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. The district's three HR Generalists work on behalf of all employees, but each specializes in a different subset of staff: certified staff, classified staff, and guest teachers. This position directly supports teachers and administrators.

Primary duties include general human resources department tasks, recruitment and employment, and benefits management. The role requires knowledge of computer knowledge and technology skills, math and data analysis skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions in a timely manner.

Experience and training guidelines include a minimum of two years of professional human resources experience or equivalent, including complex administrative support. Previous experience in a school or district setting and/or recruitment experience is preferred. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in human resources is preferred. Spanish bilingual is preferred.

The position is primarily located at the Carbondale District Office, but will require occasional travel to and among Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, and Basalt. The salary range is $31.81/hour to $40.12/hour, depending on qualified experience.
