Description: Positions Location: Lansing, MI Job Description General Purpose of Job: Provide assistance in the provision of patient care and non-patient related activities to support day-to-day operations of the department. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. * Assist rehab therapists with direct patient care. * Prepare patient treatment areas and treatment materials. * Perform general maintenance activities to promote a clean and safe work environment. * Monitor and request maintenance on equipment. * Participate in Quality Improvement program. * Order equipment and material as needed for the department, monitor supplies, restock and maintain appropriate supply levels. * Participate in staff meetings and in-services. * Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of Sparrow Health Systems Customer Service Behavioral Standards of Performance, by respecting the Privacy and Confidentiality of those we serve. * Maintain files of items purchased, checking in all items received. * Monitor and order laundry supplies as needed. * Recommend purchases to maintain departmental functioning and efficiency. * Assist with chart closures. Job Requirements General Requirements • None Work Experience • None Education • High school diploma or G.E.D. • Some college credit in a rehab-related profession Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Demonstrate physical ability to lift position and transport physically impaired patients. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, physicians, families, co-workers and other health professionals. • Demonstrate self-initiative and ability to work independently. • Demonstrate good time management in the performance of multiple tasks. • Demonstrate ability to adapt to changing work situations. • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in her/his assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of the position.
