RCIS Crop Claims Specialist or Claims Crop Field Adjuster I Zurich North America is hiring an RCIS Crop Claims Specialist or Claims Crop Field Adjuster I to join our team. Location: Southern Illinois – Clinton, Marion, Washington, Jefferson, Wayne, Edwards, Wabash, White Counties. Applicants must reside within 50 miles of any of these locations. Additional responsibilities include: Exercise judgement to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts, utilizing applicable procedures. Exercise judgement to determine policy verification and coverage determination by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within the coverage. Participate in Risk Management Agency initiated reviews and referrals for operation integrity and quality assurance. Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current with industry trends, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. The role will be filled at either the Crop Claims Specialist or Crop Claims Specialist II level, determined by the applicant’s experience and qualifications. Crop Claims Specialist Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the agricultural area. Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) obtained within 180 days of hire date. Reliable personal transportation and travel within the territory. Physical requirements: walk up to 3 miles in agricultural fields, climb storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25–50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Crop Claims Specialist II: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry. CAPP certification obtained within 180 days of hire date. Personal transportation and travel within assigned territory, including travel outside territory to assist with workload, participate on CAT team, and/or provide remote assistance for the CROP Claims Care Center calls and/or CCP Claims. Physical requirements: walk up to 3 miles in agricultural fields, climb storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25–50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications for both levels: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Strong organization, multi‑tasking, and prioritization skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Compensation: salary ranges from $46,600.00 to $81,000.00, depending on level and experience. Hourly rates for Claims Crop Field Adjuster I are $22.40 – $30.67, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility at 5%. For Crop Claims Specialist, salary ranges $49,500.00 – $81,000.00, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility at 10%.
