Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide advanced critical nursing care to pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart conditions in a specialized Intensive Care Unit. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support complex cardiac patients and their families during their recovery journey.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonatal and pediatric cardiac patients in a high-acuity PICU setting.
• Administer medications, including inotropes and vasopressors, and manage chest tubes and IV therapy.
• Monitor patient status using Phillips monitors and operate specialized equipment such as Medfusion and Baxter pumps.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate and support families through their child's congenital heart treatment process.
• Document clinical interventions and patient responses accurately in the Meditech EMR system.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2 years of pediatric cardiac critical care experience.
• Hold current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in post-operative care, including inotropic, vasopressor infusions, and chest tube management.
• Possess bedside ECMO experience preferred.
• Exhibit flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
