Production Operator

Position Summary: Production Operator Must be able to work any shift and be willing to join Union. Prepares ingredients and sets up equipment according to prescribed instructions for the manufacturing of products; operates automatic and semi-automatic production machines; moves materials to production area for processing and moves finished product to storage area; performs housekeeping duties to maintain equipment and work area in sanitary condition. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations, follow oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate with all levels of employees. Strong commitment to safety required. Manufacturing and forklift experience desirable. Must pass pre‑employment drug test and physical. Ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Working Conditions Continuous physical activity throughout the workday such as walking, stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 100 pounds, hearing, talking, repetitive motions and moving objects up to 1,100 pounds with manual equipment such as hand trucks. Ability to distinguish colors and operate a forklift. Works inside and outside, subject to changes in temperature and other weather conditions, noise above ambient levels, proximity to moving mechanical parts, potential exposure to chemicals, which is constantly monitored, and wear protective clothing when performing specific procedures.
