Overview

TRC is seeking a Distribution Technician to assist with inspecting power distribution poles for our clients.
This position will be working within our Power Distribution Engineering team and a part of our growing Power Sector. Distribution Technician is responsible for performing visual inspection of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment, compilation field data collection, minor work order preparation, and maintenance reports of distribution equipment. Provide assistance with storm damage assessments to OH and UG distribution structures and equipment for areas in and out of state.

Responsibilities

• Direct interaction with landowners and/or agencies, to gain access to distribution facilities for field data collection.
• Prepare and submit field collected data and correspondence.
• Assist in the gathering of information from field notes.
• Assist in the acquisition of field data.
• Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying and scanning of drawings, prints and maps.
• Utilize client and company information systems to track and update fielding activities.
• Follow Code of Safe Practices as outlined in the company safety policies.
• Analytical competence to interact with variety of individuals including engineers and experienced distribution system designers.
• Ability to collect field data and interpret that information.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
• Possess a working knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in electric distribution design.
• Experience in similar power systems audit, layout, technician, or design role.
• Self-starter who can work with little or no supervision, strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
• Travel is primarily local to the client and project during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience required.
• Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or utility experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and software applications desired (MS Office products) preferred.
• Clean and valid Driver's license required.
• AutoCAD and/or GIS Skills desired.

Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
