Store Location & Shift Availability Store 4707018: 327 Main St, South Portland, Maine 04106. Shift Availability: Days - Days. Job Type: Part time. Essential Duties Food Merchandising Complies with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly. Completes build‑to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise. Makes inventory checks when deliveries arrive, prices items, and stocks merchandise according to schematic. Validates deliveries by verifying invoices, reviewing discrepancies with the Store Manager, and returning outdated merchandise. Prepares displays by assembling, dating, and price‑marking in‑store displays. Rotates food items, monitoring quality and freshness to protect customers from illness. Monitors and maintains food preparation area and display cases. Customer Satisfaction Provides prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive customer service. Greets customers upon entry and thanks them upon exit. Assists in resolving routine customer concerns within established guidelines. Prepares and serves quality food and beverage. Facility Condition Sweeps, mops, cleans floors, and dusts/washes windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms. Picks up and disposes of trash, litter or debris. Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order. Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains food service equipment. Administrative Attends job‑related meetings (may require irregular hours). Maintains intradepartmental workflow and fosters cooperation. Complies with company policies and procedures. Contributes to team effort and accomplishes related results as needed. Performs all duties with minimal supervision. Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager. Job Requirements Minimum age of 18 years old. High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in retail sales preferred. Ability to work as scheduled, arrive on time. Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations. Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below. Ability to work in the conditions described below. Physical Requirements May be exposed to cold or warm extremes; may work in a walk‑in cooler or freezer and outdoors. Occasionally lift or carry up to 30 pounds from the ground to overhead. Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds from the ground to waist. Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift. Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds using a hand‑truck. Reach overhead for objects. Bend and twist at waist. Communicate orally. Operate cash register and/or computer keyboard. Work alone. Exposed to occasional noise. Stand and/or walk for entire shift. May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs. Work Environment Approximately 95% of work is indoors; may also clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc. May be exposed to extreme cold temperatures in walk‑in cooler/freezer and occasional noise.
