RN Acute Care Unit -FT/DAYS

Registered Nurse Acute Care Unit

Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Unit.

In this role, you'll provide patient-centered care by recognizing individual needs related to age, culture, and learning styles. You will support both organizational and unit standards while fostering a collaborative and cooperative environment with a strong focus on customer service.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Completes admission assessment and recognizes actual and potential health problems.
• Completes admission assessment within 8 hours of admission (provisions made/documented i.e., Functional/Cognitive Status).
• Completes nursing assessment on assigned patients promptly and adequately, within an hour, to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
• Performs medication list verification upon admission along with review of allergies.
• Continuously assesses patient response to illness intervention and use of critical thinking to problem solve. Documents completely and accurately.
• Effectively utilizes telemetry and camera systems.
• Must have an active valid Maine RN license.
• Meets the unit's annual competency training requirements.
• Obtains BLS certification within 3 months and maintain certification thereafter.
• Complete Basic Cardiac Course within one year of hire to department.

Schedule:

• 6:30a-6:30p /Schedule is determined by the manager based on unit needs.
• With consideration to our patients' and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
