Position Overview RWDI seeks a Building Enclosure Consultant to join the Portland office. The role involves supporting projects from early design to on-site guidance and performance verification, delivering insights on maintenance and enhancement of existing structures, and assisting senior consultants. Responsibilities Observe construction and installation of building enclosure systems in the field, including review of mockups and quality assurance testing. Conduct assessments of existing building enclosures. Draft details for the building enclosure using AutoCAD and Revit. Review enclosure details and specifications prepared by clients. Assist clients with system selection for building enclosure. Research building codes, industry standards, and enclosure systems for performance, compatibility, and durability. Provide local travel and occasional overnight trips as required. Handle physical aspects such as climbing ladders and stairs. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience in building enclosure design, review, and assessments. Undergraduate degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field. Basic understanding of building science and building enclosure controls for heat, air, and water. Strong communication skills expressing technical concepts in straightforward language. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit. Desirable Skills Familiarity with building performance modeling software. Familiarity with energy codes.
