Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital, requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and an active WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Level 3 Perinatal Center within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Labor and Delivery unit serving antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients — approximately 70% of the patient population is complex high-risk
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, bilateral tubal ligations (BTLs), and postpartum D&Cs, as well as a second L&D RN role as 'baby catcher' for well, non-compromised newborns
• Facility has a Level 4 NICU serving as a regional center, with approximately 150 births per month
• Unit provides outpatient services when the clinic is closed
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Weekend availability required
• Floating within the hospital required; floating to sister hospitals is not required
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred but not required)

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• At least 2 travel assignments beyond an initial hospital placement preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius requirement
• RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum — max 1 week of RTO for the contract
• Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Scrubs in any color are acceptable; scrubs are provided for OR personnel
• Daily parking is available on-site for a fee
