Detailed Job Description As an AWS Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and modernizing enterprise applications within a cloud-first environment. You will work closely with architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to transform legacy systems and monolithic applications into modern microservices-based platforms running on AWS. The role requires strong hands-on development expertise in Java and Python, coupled with a deep understanding of cloud architecture, API development, automation, and distributed systems. You will contribute to application design, migration planning, performance optimization, and deployment automation while ensuring high standards of reliability, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS Modernize legacy and mainframe applications through analysis, migration, refactoring, and decomposition initiatives Transform monolithic Java applications into scalable microservices architectures Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven application components Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define cloud migration strategies Implement scalable and secure software solutions using Java and Python Integrate applications with relational and NoSQL databases Build and support CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployments Participate in application performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization activities Contribute to architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code quality initiatives Automate operational processes to improve reliability and delivery efficiency Ensure development follows enterprise security, governance, and cloud best practices Required Qualifications & Skills 8 to 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+) development Strong proficiency in Python development Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture and core AWS services Proven experience modernizing mainframe applications and legacy enterprise systems Strong experience migrating monolithic applications to microservices architectures Solid understanding of microservices design principles and distributed systems Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging patterns Experience working with relational database technologies Experience working with NoSQL databases Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and deployment automation Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with AWS serverless technologies Knowledge of containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes Experience with cloud migration and application re-platforming projects Exposure to DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices Experience within large-scale enterprise transformation environments Recruitment Pro Tip Employers hiring for cloud modernization initiatives look for measurable transformation results.
