Student Advanced Level Requisition ID: req37446 Working Title: Family Literacy Specialist Pay: 17.00 Hourly Campus: Main - Albuquerque, NM Department: Civic Engagement (454D) Employment Type: Student Employment Status: Non-Exempt Background Check Required: Yes Organization: PB&J Family Services Location: 1101 Lopez SW, Albuquerque NM 87105 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award PB&J Family Services, is interviewing for astudent to work part-time supporting Pre-K in the South Valley, SoutheastHeights and/or Bernalillo locations. Minimumof 20 hours per week based on availability: Monday through Friday 8 AM – 5 PM. Excellent opportunity to obtain Pre‑K experience working with children ages 3-5. The Pre‑K Support staff for Family Literacy willwork closely with the Lead Teacher and support classroom and student needs.Implement developmentally appropriate practices and activities to includeFamily Literacy engagement. Staff may provide additional support and activitiesto the family to foster children’s development needs in the home. As a team create lesson plans following NMPre‑K lesson plan checklist. Work closely with teacher to documentobservations, concerns, and growths of child. Since 1972, PB&J has provided needed andtrusted services to New Mexico children and families facing environmental riskfactors including poverty, developmental disabilities, incarceration, substanceabuse and mental health issues. The student that is selected will be trained with responsibilities including: Pre‑K support Assist with the coordination of various events Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
