Function/Duties of Position General Hematology including Hemophilia, Hemostasis and Thrombosis The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine and include: participating in the education of medical students and house staff according to assignments by the Curriculum Committee and Chair; caring for patients with hematologic disease; establishing and maintaining a program of scholarly activity toward improved understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of hematologic disease; participating in administrative committees and councils of OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head; engaging in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head. It is anticipated the job will be composed of the following components: Clinical, Teaching, Research/Academic, and In-Patient Service. Successful candidates will have a strong background in all aspects of General Hematology including Hemostasis and Thrombosis, the ability to work across disciplines in an integrative fashion, and effective teaching skills. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to integrate their clinical and research programs into a highly dynamic environment. The General Hematology service has an active inpatient and outpatient consult service and collaborates with pediatric colleagues and services such as Vascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology. The Hemophilia Center is the regional core of the HRSA-funded Mountain States Hemophilia Network and is a national leader in transforming care for those affected by bleeding and clotting disorders.
