Coding Specialist

Remote work is available for candidates in Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota, only.The purpose of this position is to provide ongoing education to providers, coders and others. To identify and recommend systems and tools to encourage and support providers in effective coding and billing. Onboarding new providers and helping to train new coders to the most recent and up to date coding guidelines in their respective specialties. Monitor coding and documentation for each provider through yearly audits. Monitor coding accuracy through audits performed twice a year. Regularly meet with and communicate findings to providers and coders. Develop practice-wide coding guidelines, and develop curriculum for training providers, staff and other constituents. Must have the ability to think critically and independently research issues and or topics as they arise.Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.Must be able to attend the work as scheduled.Licensure/Certification: Physician office coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) preferred.Work Experience: Five plus years related health care experience.
