Robert Half is seeking a Communications & Social Media Coordinator for a contract opportunity with a public-sector organization serving communities throughout the greater Portland area. This role will support communications initiatives across multiple departments and help develop engaging content that informs and connects with residents, community partners, and stakeholders.

Title: Communications & Social Media Coordinator

Location: Greater Portland Area (Onsite, with potential for hybrid flexibility)

Duration: Contract through December

Pay Rate: $28–33/hour (W2)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Target Start Date : ASAP

Responsibilities:

• Create and manage social media content across various platforms.
• Develop written content for digital and print communications.
• Draft, edit, and distribute press releases.
• Create newsletters and communications for community-based partners and stakeholders.
• Attend meetings with various departments to gather information and support communications efforts.
• Assist with content planning, messaging development, and community engagement initiatives.
• Ensure communications are clear, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, social media, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience creating content for social media and digital communications channels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are highly preferred.
