Job Description

This is a full time, 9 month position. This position is eligible for benefits. Pay is based on experience/education and ranges from: $26 - $33.29/hour.

Purpose To provide assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities and creating a healthy school climate. This includes but is not limited to:

• Education about policies and procedures for assigned school.
• Ongoing communication about particular student health care needs.
• Provide first aid care for injuries and illnesses.
• Establish and maintain health records and filing of state reports.
• Dispense school time medications.
• Order and distribute medical supplies for school building.
• Obtain immunization record for all students.
• Serve as a resource person for health education programs.
• Conduct annual screening programs.
• Implement and maintain a health program that includes prevention, assessment, intervention and referral.

Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of Indiana. School Nurse and/or public health experience preferred.
