Senior Director, Technical Program Management -AI/ML (Remote Eligible)

Overview Senior Director, Technical Program Management – AI/ML (Remote Eligible) at Capital One. Lead programs that deliver critical business goals and build large‑scale data products and platforms, including the next‑generation Generative AI platform. Responsibilities Build and deliver highly scalable platforms, products, or services, proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout the delivery life‑cycle. Build and lead a world‑class team of technical program managers focused on powering intelligent experiences for customers and associates. Lead technology‑focused discussions with senior leadership, providing valuable insights and recommendations guiding technology‑based decisions. Drive exceptional communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, and influencing skills across product, engineering, design, and data science teams. Use a quantitative, systems‑thinking approach to simplify technically complex problems and implement holistic solutions. Grow and develop a team of TPMs while building the foundations for the TPM practice within the organization. Simplify technical complexity to drive well‑educated decisions across multiple functions and ensure deep focus on execution, follow‑through, accountability, and results. Maintain cross‑team collaboration across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to achieve outcomes. Employ high emotional intelligence, active listening, and empathy to support teams and partners. Qualifications At least 9 years of experience in technical program management. 9+ years designing and building data‑intensive solutions using distributed computing. 5+ years building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing architecture (preferably AWS). 5+ years building high‑scale, low‑latency data platforms. 5+ years experience with Agile delivery. 5+ years delivering large and complex programs where you own the business or technical vision, secure commitments on deliverables, and unblock teams to achieve business impact. Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering). Demonstrated AI/ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open source contributions, or patents.
