Principal SOC Architect, AI Accelerators

Salary: $172,800 - 304,900 per year Requirements:

• We need a masters degree, or an equivalent background, in engineering or a related discipline.
• We require 10+ years of hardware design, testing, and commercialization experience.
• We expect 3+ years of experience with datacenter products such as servers and accelerators.
• We need strong knowledge of datacenter security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, lifecycle management, and deployments.
• We value a solid understanding of scale-up and scale-out architectures.
• We are looking for someone willing to collaborate in a high-caliber, international, multi-site team.
• A bachelors degree in science, engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience is also relevant.
• Alternatively, a masters degree in science, engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience is acceptable.
• A PhD in science, engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience is another qualifying path.
• Preferred experience includes server SoC security, especially confidential compute.
• Experience contributing to OCP Security Forum and Confidential Compute Forum is a plus.
• We prefer experience defining RAS infrastructure at the server SoC level.
• Familiarity with PCIe protocols including SRIOV, SIOV, IDE, and TDISP is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of server SoC architectures focused on security, RAS, and virtualization is preferred.
• Knowledge of Ethernet protocols, especially error recovery and virtualization, is an advantage.
• Experience partnering with product marketing and datacenter customers to define security, RAS, and virtualization requirements is preferred.

• We analyze trends in datacenter security, RAS, and virtualization through customer and ODM engagements.
• We work with customers to define hardware and software requirements.
• We review current AI server deployments across different datacenters.
• We architect enhancements needed to deploy next-generation AI products.
• We design the SoC architecture for RAS, virtualization, and/or security domains.
• For RAS, we assess reliability at the card, server, and rack levels.
• For RAS, we create architectures that improve serviceability.
• For RAS, we implement hardware and software methods that increase availability and reduce failure impact.
• For virtualization, we support multiple clients using VMs on the same hardware platform.
• For virtualization, we apply best practices for security and isolation between customers.
• For security, we define confidential compute or equivalent capabilities based on datacenter needs.
