Pacific Specialty Insurance Company is a large regional carrier in California, but consistently writes business in 4 other states as well.As a Claims Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of a dynamic Claims organization which aims to provide a terrific Claims experience to help our customers! This means answering questions, routing calls, helping to assign files and assignments and finding the answers! In addition, you'll assist with mail and help our customers get paid for their claims and move forward with their lives after a car accident, vehicle theft, roof leaks at their house, etc. You will also handle low complexity Claim files on occasion. In addition, you'll be asked to help plan fun events for the office, order supplies, help with making travel arrangements and other things to help support our customers, claim adjusters and leaders. This position is dynamic, requiring flexibility and the ability to multi-task to provide multi-faceted assistance to the claim's organization.Candidates must be able to work in-office 3 days per week.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage/Process Incoming Mail and Phone Calls (75%).Perform Claim Intake and Loss Assignment Process, which includes, but is not limited to:Setting up a new claim record in the claims system.Cross reference any duplicate filings and coordinate with Claims Representative in relation to closing the previous filing.Post payback/adjustments from Subro/Salvage (10%).Handle low complexity claims (5%)Support Claims Team when directed by Claims Management (i.e. other duties as assigned)Requirements:High School DiplomaSignificant prior applicable work experience requiredSome college / college degree preferredBilingual, especially Spanish is helpful, but not requiredFriendly, positive and professional demeanorAbility to make timely and accurate decisionsProficient written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with limited oversightOur Benefits - Protection is the name of the game in the insurance industry, and we believe in benefit plans that offer protection to our employees for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
