Tool and Die Maker

The tool maker's primary purpose is to ensure tools and dies are built, maintained and repaired in a timely fashion. The tool maker reports directly to the tool room foreman for assignment of duties and is expected to track and document all work performed.Responsibilities for Tool Maker:Operate tool room equipment safely and efficiently and in accordance with OSHA standards and company proceduresPerform extensive die maintenance such as rebuilding die sections, inserts and forms and engineering changes on all types of dies, fixtures, gages or other tooling needsRead and understand specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualize product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts, build tooling, and meet customer requirementsDemonstrate good short and long term decision making in these areas:Press Room troubleshootingDiagnosis of problem and courses of actionTool Room machining practicesPerforms all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to OSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.)Participates in continuous improvement activitiesAssumes other duties as directed by managementWe are a well established company with over 60 years in the automotive industry.
